Our Story
Every child deserves the chance to communicate — and the professionals who know how to teach them.
From the moment our founder, Amy Fetter, took an AAC class in graduate school at CU Boulder, she knew she had found her life’s purpose. Discovering that many individuals communicate in ways beyond vocal speech reshaped her understanding of communication — and inspired her to dedicate her career to supporting them.
After graduation, Amy dove headfirst into the world of AAC and children who are non-speaking. She joined the Assistive Technology Team in the Cherry Creek School District and began seeing clients who used speech-generating devices before and after her school day — determined to make communication easier, faster, and truly supportive of each child’s daily interactions and social connections..
As her experience grew, so did her questions. Many of the children she served had autism, and the progress she hoped for wasn’t happening fast enough. Amy realized she needed to understand not just what to teach, but how children learn. That realization led her to study Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) — as a science of learning that could help her teach communication in more meaningful, effective ways.
In 2014, Amy became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and founded Integrated Speech & Behavior — a behaviorally oriented speech therapy practice built on the belief that communication should be taught with intention, structure, and joy. The practice began by serving children in their homes and in partnered ABA center across the Denver area, blending speech therapy and ABA strategies to create meaningful, measurable progress for children with complex communication needs.
Now, in 2026, Integrated Speech & Behavior is taking the next step — opening Colorado’s first transdisciplinary speech and ABA center designed specifically for children who use AAC.
This new center is more than a building — it’s a model for what’s possible when the science of learning meets the art of communication.
A place where SLPs and BCBAs work side-by-side.
Where technology becomes a bridge to independence.
And where families can see — and feel — their child’s progress.
